- The Okuma LOC 650 2SC BB is the finest Hollow Spindle, Oil Field lathes ever built. With the large 22.04" spindle bore, this lathe offers one of the most rugged and rigid cast iron headstock and spindle construction money can buy. This allows the spindle to handle the maximum 60hp drive capacity without sacrificing rigidity, accuracy and part finish. The LOC650 has a base mounted VAC electric spindle drive system that employs an auto shift two gear design to produce large torque values in all ranges. The headstock is hand scraped to the bed mounting base. The Headstock has a discrete lubrication system with filtration, cooling and interlocks for monitoring correct operation and low reservoir condition. The spindle is supported by two sets of dual angular contact ball bearings. A two-point bearing support provides the rigidity and long life for this very accurate spindle. Maximum torque is 6603 lbf-ft.
